Email policy and contact
This page explains how VelvetVote obtains recipient consent, sends account and creator verification messages, and responds to delivery problems. VelvetVote is currently an independent 18+ audience-research prototype operated from South Australia, Australia.
Last updated: 9 September 2026
Messages we send
- One-time sign-in codes requested by the person entering their own email address.
- Creator verification codes requested after a creator opens a private invitation link.
- We do not use Amazon SES for newsletters, promotions, or purchased mailing lists.
Recipient consent
- A creator invitation is created only after the creator directly asks for it or agrees to receive it.
- The administrator must confirm that consent before VelvetVote creates a private invitation.
- VelvetVote does not use scraped, purchased, rented, or third-party contact lists.
Frequency and security
- Verification codes expire after 10 minutes and requests are rate-limited.
- Private creator invitations expire after seven days and are restricted to the invited address.
- Email verification proves inbox control only; creator publication still requires manual review.
Bounces and complaints
- Amazon SES delivery feedback is routed to a monitored support inbox.
- Addresses that hard-bounce or generate a complaint are suppressed from future delivery.
- Mailbox Simulator checks are used before material changes to the sending system.
Questions or unwanted email
Reply directly to a VelvetVote message or contact the monitored support inbox. We will investigate delivery problems, invalidate an invitation when appropriate, and prevent further non-requested messages to that address.
